A FEW IMAGES FROM LAST YEARS' EVENT...

SITE PLAN FOR 2025

:-)

Hello dear riders and passengers,

This year, there will be TWO separate Classique events — one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The goal is to make the event more accessible by opening up more spots for participants.

That said, our registration software isn’t built to handle this many variations… So we’ll be using four separate links:

🏁 Saturday registration (includes the evening banquet)

🏍️ Sunday registration (includes Saturday’s banquet, for those arriving the night before)

🙋‍♂️ Volunteer sign-up

⛺ Camping or parking reservation (required if you’re not camping on-site and are arriving with a vehicle other than a motorcycle)

📍 All links can be found on the official Classique page: www.laclassique.ca

CERTIFICATION

image title here

Please indicate whether you have a valid first-aid certificate.

Each team leader will receive a free "basic" first aid kit provided by the organizationthat they can take home with them.

image title here

📍 GPS Navigation and Route Tracking Each Leader will have the day’s route loaded into their GPS.

🔍 This question also aims to help identify at least three or four people per group (ideally including the Sweeper) who have a device capable of reading GPX files. These riders will be able to support the Leader in case of technical issues.

📅 A few days before the ride, the Leader will directly share a copy of the GPX route with the team members who have a compatible device.

EMERGENCY CONTACT

Full name and phone number please

This is so that we can match you as best as possible with people who can communicate well enough in both languages... and for the pleasure of meeting new friends! :-)

This will also determine the language of some of the documents you will eventually receive.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

LETS TALK ABOUT YOUR BIKE!

image title here

🛵 Please indicate the type (size/class) of motorcycle you plan to ride at the Classique.

⚠️ Important: Side cases will NOT be allowed during the ride. However, if you need them to get to the event, we will take care of them in the morning and return them to you at the end of the day.

We'll give them back to you at day's end..

.

Please choose the year of your bike

Please write model of your motorcycle here, If You're riding backseat and without a motorcycle, please write ''Passenger''

Please enter the plate number of your motorcycle - If you are a passenger, please write "passenger" in the box.

Please refer to the chart below before answering the following questions, taking into account your TRUE offroad experience as well as your personal limits.

image title here

Please take note that it's not to enough to qualify yourself in a level if you've done it once or twice. We need you to tell us, to what riding level you can consistently ride comfortably/safely in.

And dont forget to take into account your type, and condition of tires, your early season reflexes (usually slow) , the size of your bike in the trails.

Tell us about the level of riding you’re truly comfortable with. Don’t focus on something you’ve only done once or twice — think more about what you’d realistically be able to do during a group ride.

How much time have you been (regularly) riding off-road ? (Gravel and/or Trails)

image title here" />

The notion of ''Tempo'' will be (in this case) indicative of the number of stops (not of speed!), that you hope for during the day

Everyone must remember that all posted speed limits will need to be respected, common sense will also need to exercised by all.

You will need to be discussed with your group leader.

This to ensure that you are on the same page with repsect to the route during the day, if you are unsure of your caliber, please choose a less difficult route, moreover, if a leader notices that you are not riding safely due to your inexperience, it is possible that he/she will separate you from the group and send you forward via paved roads to the next destination,

''Relaxed'' = Few to several stops during day

''Sustained'' = None to few stops during day

Before we continue, we would like to reiterate one specific element.

*It may happen that some riders overestimate (without realizing it) their driving skills compared to the photos that are shown above, so please consider this: *

  1. Your reflexes will be rusty (this one will be one of your first rides of the year)
  2. You will encounter spring conditions (Slippery Terrain, mud, and some water depending on the routes, and there will be excessive sand everywhere)
  3. All routes will of about 300km (+/-25km), there is a lunch stop midway and a return to Lachute. Consider that there will be a group effect and certainly a riding cadence depending on the level of route you choose.
  4. AGGRESSIVE tires will be required for everyone.

*Please consider the following: *

  • Choose a route level that is FOR YOU and not for the friend you would like to ride with, if he or she likes you enough they will show you the right route for your safety!

The routes

.

Considering the points above, and with the spring conditions, **we recommend a CONSERVATIVE route choice**

Your team leader will probably contact you sometime from now to the event, in order to exchange on the course of the day for him/her and his/her team. If you believe after this call that you should drop a level, we will gladly support you with that.

On the day of the ride, and if the group leader assesses that you cannot follow the group in a reasonably safe fashion, it is possible that he will ask you (for your safety) to exit the group and let you take the main roads to the next meeting point of the event, (either the Village of Duhamel (lunch) or St-André-Avellin depending on the time of day)

Once again, this is the beginning of the season, and for this event, we recommend a conservative route choice.

Thank you and have a great Classique!

  1. The Panoramic route - Level 0-1 (20% Gravel-80% Asphalt) 30-50km Gravel

  2. Classique - Level 0-1 (60% Gravel-40% Asphalt) 200-250KM Gravel

  3. Classique Plus - Level 0-2+ (Experienced trail riders - intermediates)

  4. The Intrepid - Level 0-3+ (Highly experienced riders ONLY. NO intermediate riders please!)

Refund Policy

Please note that the transaction you make today will be final and without any refund, whether by choice or not (regardless of the reason, including medical).

However, if you wish to transfer your registration to someone else, you can make a transfer with a person who has chosen the same route and that is already on the waiting list (if applicable). This transaction must be made by mutual agreement and accepted by both parties and it will be possible to do so only until May 1st, 2025 inclusively.

It must be understood that this date is determined as such because we must close our lists in order to proceed to the printing of personalized rider cards, posters, morning departure orders, the organization of volunteers, etc etc etc etc ...

All our lists eventually must be permanently closed in order to allow us to undertake the final preparations.

..

IN ADDITION

The year 2020 and 2022 (Derecho) had at some levels put La Classique event in jeopardy, and we must thank all the registrants of the moment for their flexibility in terms of reimbursement.

In a case of a ‘’force majeure’’ or that the event is forced to be cancelled (such as in case of a return of the pandemic, weather disaster, war or other). We will make a partial refund that will be burdened with expenses already incurred at the time of cancellation.

Basically, we will calculate the total revenues generated by registrations, we will then calculate the amounts lost already spent, cancellation fees, lost deposits with suppliers etc.) and we will then determine an amount to be refunded on a pro rata basis for each of the registrants.

It must be understood that the organization of ''La Classique'' is a non-profit organization and that everything is done on a volunteer basis, so it is normal that any financial burden be shared by all participants, just as it was the case when $ 9 was ultimately retained during the canceled (covid) event of 2020.

Thank you for your understanding.
